About

In 2020, I graduated with my associates in elementary education intending to pursue school counseling. My goal was to use my interest in psychology in conjunction with my passion for helping people. My time in education allowed me to see where digital learning programs were creating more problems in the classroom than helping. After graduating with my associates in elementary education, I decided I wanted to help people on a much broader scale. At this time, I was learning about the exciting world of User Experience and Human-Computer Interaction. A career I had never heard of previously, it now gave me a way to foster my interest in cognitive psychology while helping improve digital experiences for learners everywhere.
In December of 2022, I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from IUPUI. During my time at IUPUI, I joined a lab (FOrTELOS) where I assisted in research and conducted studies looking at the influence personality has on perceived pain. In 2021, my community research project was a finalist in the IU Indianapolis's Engaged Learning Showcase. This project allowed me to dip my toes into research methods similar to the ones used in HCI and see how research and design can be applied to real-world situations. I will graduate with my master's in Human-Computer Interaction from IUI's Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering in December of 2024.
Through my studies, I have found my passion for research and hope to use my multidisciplinary background to aid me in my future career as an HCI researcher.
